Overview

Aldaview Services, a division of Tri-County Mennonite Homes (TCMH), is a not-for-profit service agency located in New Hamburg that has provided leadership in service to developmentally disabled individuals for over 30 years. TCMH is the corporate office that manages a division that provides support to people with developmental disabilities (Aldaview Services) and two seniors’ residential and health care divisions (Nithview Community & Greenwood Court). Our growing and changing organization is searching for a part-time Overnight Direct Support ‘sleep position’ to be part of the Aldaview Services staff team.  

Responsibilities

Start Date: June 2017

 

Job Description:

Primary area of work: To provide support to people in the residential setting overnight.   

 

Additional duties include:

  • To assist and provide support to clients as the need arise during your shift
  • To provide support and assistance to clients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, life skills.
  • Work as a member of the Aldaview Services team
  • Assist and support clients to maintain an optimal level of independence and quality of life
  • Food preparation and household cleaning duties

The successful applicant will be scheduled an average of four (4) overnights every two weeks to include an every other weekend. All shifts will be from 10:00pm-8:30am.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree/diploma in the social services field, such as a DSW or enrolled in a related college or university program would be an asset
  • Related experience (2 years minimum) working with adults with special needs, preferably in a residential setting would be an asset
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • CPR, First Aid, CPI and preferably an ‘F’ class license.
